Rwanda’s national carrier RwandAir said on Tuesday it will commence direct flights to Tel Aviv, Israel on June 25.
RwandAir will fly to Tel Aviv three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays by Boeing 737-800NG, according to a statement.
The new route is expected to help RwandAir to increase connectivity between Rwanda and the rest of the world, Yvonne Manzi Makolo, the CEO of RwandAir said.
According to Makolo, the Tel Aviv route would cement bilateral relations between Rwanda and Israel as well as help increase passenger and cargo traffic.
RwandAir announced earlier in May that it will commence flights to Guangzhou, the third largest city in China on June 18. Tel Aviv route will extend RwandAir’s network to 29 destinations.
Other new planned routes this year include Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and Luanda in Angola, according to the airline.
